Donations made to three local schools in conjunction with annual users' group conference and corporate volunteer program
Washington, DC – October 20, 2014 – Higher Logic, the leading industry provider of cloud-based community platforms, joined donorschoose.org as part of their Higher Logic CARES volunteer program, to help three local classrooms incorporate technology into the day-to-day learning experiences for their students. Each year in conjunction with its Super Forum, Higher Logic teams up with a local non-profit, charity or foundation in an effort to provide HUG Super Forum attendees with a volunteer opportunity that serves the local community.

For 2014, Higher Logic made donations on behalf of all Super Forum attendees and staff to the following schools:
Bush Hill Elementary School in Alexandria, VA: A classroom iPad will allow students to FaceTime with their pen pals in other states, as well as help a blind student further language skills by providing additional resources and opportunities to listen to readings and stories online.
Jefferson Middle School in Arlington, VA: Students who are deaf will use a new computer and iPad to manage their classroom blog and newsletter, as well as allow them to regularly communicate with their "book buddies" across the country.
Maury Elementary School, Washington, DC: Located in a high poverty area of D.C., many of the students who attend this school have little to no exposure to technology outside of the classroom. New Google Chromebooks will allow students to practice their computer skills regularly, ultimately helping them to be more successful throughout their future education.
