Higher Logic Announces 'Community of the Year' Award Winners at Annual Users Group Conference

The 2013 HUG Super Forum held Dec. 2-3 in Washington, D.C. for 300 connected community users.

Washington, DC – December 10, 2013 – Higher Logic, the leading industry provider of private social networking software for associations, franchises and user’s groups, announced the winners of the fourth annual 2013 HUG Super Forum HUG Awards during its annual users group conference. Six organizations out of a pool of over 350 applicants were recognized for their excellence in using Higher Logic’s Connected Community software.

The 2013 HUG Super Forum HUG Awards highlight and celebrate clients that have achieved significant results through the implementation and use of Higher Logic products. The 2013 HUG Super Forum HUG Award categories and winners are:

  • Organizations With More Than 100,000 Members: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Rockville, Maryland)
  • Organizations With Between 50,000 and 100,000 Members: National Association of Independent Schools (Washington, D.C.)
  • Organizations With Between 20,000 and 50,000 Members: American Society of Association Executives (Washington, D.C.)
  • Organizations With Between 5,000 and 20,000 Members: International Association of Administrative Professionals (Kansas City, Missouri)
  • Organizations With Between 1,500 and 5,000 Members: National Employment Lawyers Association (San Francisco, California)
  • Organizations With Fewer Than 1,500 Members: Alliance of Cambridge Advisors (Wilmington, North Carolina)

To be considered for the award, communities must have been active for at least one year and have a reasonable amount of accrued data. Organizations were judged based on numerous engagement metrics including total unique users; total discussion messages; total unique discussion authors; total discussion threads; total replies to discussion threads; key member engagement rations. The HUG Awards were given out during the 2013 HUG Super Forum by Higher Logic’s President and Chief Engagement Officer Andy Steggles and Higher Logic’s Director of Client Success Heather McNair on Tuesday, December 3 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The 2013 HUG Super Forum broke an attendance record resulting in the largest user group conference to date with over 300 attendees. The conference featured two general sessions, one keynote presentation, more than 21 education sessions including nine hours of CAE credit, an Open House, one-one-consulting time and a plenary session entitled: 45 Ideas in 45 Minutes. There were 20 sponsor exhibits featuring the best in technology solutions for Higher Logic clients. The goals of the 2013 HUG Super Forum were to help Higher Logic clients find maximum benefit from Connected Community and Higher Logic mobile apps, as well as promote best practices in the evolving usage of social technology to build community and engagement.
